These are pendants made from coefficient glass and dichroic glass. The process is pretty amazing, just to know that your only taking glass up to 1600 degrees to melt the pieces together. Let alone the results, they round out on the sides and are beautiful in every respect. If you are interested in any of these pieces to buy for yourself they come with an adjustable black cord and can be found on my Etsy at: http://www.etsy.com/people/sammiemantha
I hope you like them.
There's more to come as well.
If you keep on watching my Dream Scape blog posting, I plan to put everything from my Etsy on here as well.
Some of the items that I will be putting up will include purses that are hand painted and sewn, paintings, sculptures, steam punk jewelry, beaded jewelry, dichroic earrings, ceramic pieces, and much much more.
I also do commissions if you were interested in something specially for a love on or an important event in terms of jewelry. I also do the same for my artwork, I've done installations, murals, drawings for stained glass artists to cut the glass out from, and many other specialty art for whomever enjoys my work.
For the jewelry commissions I ask what interests you in terms of color, shape, objects (flowers, cats, etc.), media (glass, ceramics, metal...), what it is you want (necklace, ring, earrings, bracelet...). Then I'll probably ask you some questions about yourself, just to get an idea of what your personality is like. From there I take it all in and bring it out in a piece for yourself. Of course I would work with you a lot on it. I ask for your approval throughout the entire process, making sure you are happy with the piece, this is the whole point in the first place any how. I could do this through e-mailing pictures and discussing it back an forth through e-mails or over the phone. The shipping costs are added on in the end, but I am a very fair person when it comes to the price of my work.
This is about the same process that I would do with my artwork, but a little more in depth. With commissions of both my jewelry and art I do ask for 50% of the cost out right only to gather the materials that will be used for the piece.
I hope to hear comments and thoughts on all that I post, I always enjoy constructive criticism, it challenges me to look from another point of view than my own being that I know what it is I am creating or seeing, but that may not necessarily be true for an outsiders view. Although my artwork is meant to be that way, for the onlooker to see more than is there or what else could be there through imagining with their own mind, allowing for their creativity to come out in just looking at what it is I have created. That is something that I really enjoy bringing out in people, because everyone has it within them, it is just how to find may or may not have been found yet.
Well thanks for checking out my first blog, I hope that you will come back and enjoy some of my other work. Also another "soon to come" feature to look out for is a separate blog site I will be setting up. That one will be all about philosophies, theories, and ambitions. I'll post the name on her as well, hope you will check it out!
Where there is a world, there is art.
